Three Teams Win Girls Soccer Titles

The 2013 State Girls Soccer Tournament concluded Saturday with the crowning of three champions at Uihlein Soccer Park in Milwaukee.

State Girls Soccer Tournament Preview

The 31st Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Girls Soccer Championships will take place Thursday-Saturday, June 13-15, at Time Warner Cable Stadium at Uihlein Soccer Park in Milwaukee, Wis. Ticket prices are $8 per session and $1 for children 6-years old or younger. Tickets are available at the venue. 

The single-elimination tournament features three divisions. Eight teams will compete for the State title in Division 1, and four teams play for the State crowns in Divisions 2 and 3. Below are the time schedules and pairings.

Spring Sports Schedules Receive Reprieve

The WIAA Board of Control has approved "temporary scheduling relief" for spring sports schedules to address the significant scheduling challenges presented by the extreme inclement weather this spring.

NFHS Releases 2013-14 Soccer Rule Changes

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Clarifying when and how coaches can communicate with players highlighted the high school soccer rules changes approved by the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) Soccer Rules Committee at its January 21-23 meeting in Indianapolis. These changes were subsequently approved by the NFHS Board of Directors. 

Spring/Summer Sportsmanship Award Recipients Selected

The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association, in cooperation with Rural Mutual Insurance Company, has selected the team Sportsmanship Award winners for the 2012 Spring and Summer State Team Championships.

The winners of the prestigious award are Notre Dame in boys tennis, Tigerton in softball, Greenwood in spring baseball, the Lake Country Lutheran and University Lake School co-op in girls soccer and Sheboygan Falls in summer baseball.
