Girls Lacrosse History

The WIAA began sponsoring girls lacrosse with a Tournament Series in 2024. Thirty-six school programs offered the sport in its first season, including 35 eligible to compete for a State championship. The program expanced to 50 teams sponsoring the sport in 2025.

One division of tournament play culminated with a championship game conducted at the Bank of Sun Prairie Stadium at Ashley Field, Sun Prairie, Wis. Kettle Moraine/Badger was crowned champion of the first tournament with a 17-15 win over University School of Milwaukee.

Kettle Moraine/Badger also advanced to the championship game in 2025 and finished runner-up. The Lasers are the only program to advance to the title game more than once. Kettle Moraine/Badger and Hudson possess a championship trophy. Both University School of Milwaukee and Hudson have played one championship game.
