School Photographers for State
This section addresses the school photographer procedures when the tournament is held at the Kohl Center in Madison only.
SCHOOL PHOTOGRAPHER - STATE INDIVIDUAL WRESTLING
Each school that qualifies an individual for the State Tournament is permitted ONE School Photographer credential that must be pre=registered by the Athletic Director. Parents of State Tournament qualifying wrestlers are not eligible to receive the School Photography pass. Note: Co-op teams will only be provided one pass - not transferrable to any other individual.
Only schools of competitors may receive a School Photographer credential to photograph State Tournament events for their school’s usage in yearbooks, school newspaper, or other school functions. A ticket must be purchased, and a student/photo ID will be required when attempting to obtain a School Photographer credential at Guest Services on the first concourse of the Kohl Center. (Section 119) The AD will need to submit a request for a school photographer credential via a Google form, which will be provided by email following the Sectional tournament.
School Photography areas are located at each mat. Cheering at mat areas by photographers is unprofessional and will not be tolerated. Violators will have their credentials revoked and be escorted out of the mat area by WIAA or security personnel. School Photography credentials are not intended for coaches; former coaches; or family and friends of participants, coaches or school administrators. School videographers would need to use the photographer tag or the extra coach pass in the school packet. There is not an additional pass to be on the carpeted area alongside the mat.
Those in possession of this credential:
Must only use general seating access areas to enter the floor/mat area
Must remain on the carpeted areas alongside the mats in a seated position not to obstruct views of the scoreboards during their respective match
Must vacate the mat/floor area immediate following the respective school’s match
Do not have access to other media-only access areas
Commercial use of photos and images taken with a School Photographer pass is strictly prohibited. Video or still images may not be sold, rented, loaned, transmitted on the Web site or shared with other schools or any entity or media outlet with intent to transmit or commercialize. Any commercial sponsorship or commercial use of the video is prohibited. Violation of this policy will subject the school or individual to the photo license, video and transmission rights fees.
A school which designates any outside entity for its “School Photographer” pass forfeits the right to send its own photographer to the State Tournament and is responsible for violations of the School Photography pass policies regarding the commercial use of images.

Individual State Parking
PLAN AHEAD FOR PARKING - We recommend using garages near the Capitol Square, where parking is plentiful and within walking distance of the Kohl Center.
- Best options: Capitol Square North Garage, Overture Center Garage, State Street Capitol Garage, Dayton / Pinckney Ramp, Block89 Ramp.
- Not recommended: State Street Campus Garage / Frances Street Parking Garage (Located at 439 N. Frances St. in Madison, this garage is typically a good option for tournament parking near the Kohl Center but is under construction; spaces here will be very limited and attempting to use this garage may cause traffic congestion and delays.)
