Winter Sportsmanship Award Winners Announced

The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association, in cooperation with Rural Mutual Insurance, has selected the recipients of the team Sportsmanship Awards for the 2013 winter State Tournaments.

The winners of the sportsmanship honor are Little Chute in boys basketball, Lodi in girls basketball, Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln in boys ice hockey, University School Co-op in girls ice hockey, Coleman in wrestling and River Falls in gymnastics.

2013-14 Officials Licensing Application

For the 2013-14 school year officials will be able to submit their licensing application online and make payment with a credit card. Online licensing application for 2013-14 will be available on our website beginning May 1, 2013. The deadline to submit the 2013-14 licensing application will be July 5, 2013. The WIAA will not be sending out re-licensing applications to officials as we have in the past.

Pole Vault Box Padding Now Permitted

The WIAA has announced, in response to the recent NFHS decision regarding new pole vault box padding, to alsoallow, not require, ASTM approved padding in the pole vault box.

Please be aware of the following:

*Only padding that meets the current ASTM standard will be allowed. Some schools may have a prototype of this padding. Be aware that the prototype does not meet the ASTM standard. Homemade padding is NOT allowed.
