Board Approves New Conference Realignment Process, Fall Sports Changes

STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Board of Control unanimously approved a task force recommendation to revamp the conference realignment process, and voted on changes to the fall sports season regulations at its Jan. 30 meeting.

Homestead, University School Win Girls Tennis Team Titles

The Highlanders (25-0) capped an undefeated season by winning the Division 1 championship for the third consecutive year with a 4-3 win over Divine Savior Holy Angels (20-5). Homestead won the match on the strength of its doubles play. The Highlanders won at all three doubles flights to go with a victory by freshman Anna Head at #3 singles to account for their score. University School (16-3) won its second straight Division 2 championship with a 5-2 victory over Catholic Memorial (14-2). The Wildcats won three of the four singles flights and two of three doubles flights to account for their scoring.

Homestead, University School Win Girls Tennis Team Titles

Homestead and University School of Milwaukee added to their run of championships at the 25th Annual WIAA State Girls Team Tennis Tournament Saturday and Nielsen Tennis Stadium in Madison, Wis.

State Girls Individual Tennis Tournament Preview

The 48th Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Girls Individual Tennis Tournament will be held Thursday-Saturday, Oct. 11-13. The meet takes place at the Nielsen Tennis Stadium on the University of Wisconsin campus in Madison, Wis. Action will begin Thursday at 10:30 a.m., Friday at 9 a.m. and Saturday at 8:30 a.m. Tickets are $6 for adults and students.
