Realignment Task Force Conducts 2022-23 Football-Only Conference Review

STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The Conference Realignment Task Force reviewed 17 football-only requests in the first meeting of the membership’s 2022-23 realignment review process Tuesday.

Football-Only Conference Realignment Request Period Closes

STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The application process for member schools requesting football-only conference realignment for the 2022-23 season closed on Nov. 15. There are 17 requests for conference football-only realignment, involving 23 conferences.

2020 Football Playoff Brackets Released

STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The brackets for six divisions in 11-player football and an 8-player bracket have been released. There are 196 teams in six divisions in the 11-player culminating event and eight teams in the 8-player playoff.

COVID-19 Concerns to Alter State Tournament Plans in Madison

STEVENS POINT, Wis. –  The uncertainty of conducting culminating events and tournaments, and given the challenging situation with COVID-19 restrictions in Dane County, the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association and the University of Wisconsin-Madison announce WIAA tournaments will not be conducted at UW facilities this fall.

STEVENS POINT, Wis. –  The 513 schools in the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association declared by yesterday’s deadline for either the traditional fall season or the alternate fall season to be held in the spring of 2021.

STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Board of Control considered a number of season schedule models and resolved to maintain fall interscholastic opportunities with a delayed start, as well as an alternate opportunity for schools unable to start and administer the traditional fall season, at its virtual special meeting today.

Important Rule Reminders Following School Closure Announcement

Here are a number of reminders for athletic directors and coaches as the DHS COVID-19 Executive Order has been extended through May 26, 2020. All WIAA rules remain in effect. These include code of conduct enforcement, in-season vs. out-of-season instruction and school year vs. summer contact opportunities – at this time.
