Kenosha Bradford @ Muskego
Aug. 26, 2021

The Kenosha Bradford athletic trainers and personnel were constantly checking on me and my crew on a very hot and humid evening. They ran out to each one of us with water during every time out and break in the action. I also want to commend the coaching staff as well, for being outstanding role models and leaders of their team. At the end of the game, the coaches made it a point to thank us as we left the field, even though they were not victorious that evening. My whole crew talked about how nice it was to be treated so well after the game in the locker room.

Kewaunee @ Sturgeon Bay
May 18, 2021

Coach Benesh and Coach Bortolini did a great job leading their teams during both games of a doubleheader. They were encouraging and teaching their student athletes through both games of the doubleheader. I would like to recognize Liz and Jenna Rohr from Kewaunee for leading their team. Both athletes reminded me of their grandmother, Shelly, who I worked with for many years in healthcare. Both girls demonstrated kindness and greatfulness during the game much like their grandmother did at work. Nice to see positive qualities being passed down through generations in Kewaunee.

Martin Luther @ Catholic Central
May 14, 2021

This was a well played game with multiple lead changes that went 10 innings. There were nothing but positive comments by both teams and coaches. Earlier in the game, Catholic Central was reduced to eight players due to injuries. In the bottom of the 10th inning with a one run lead and two outs, Martin Luther Coach Rodriguez intentionally chose to pitch to the Catholic Central batter, even though they could have chose to walk the batter and take the automatic out for Catholic Central only having eight players. Coach Rodriguez let the girls decide the outcome of the game and did not allow them to be punished for having bad luck in injuries. Before the game we were given snacks and water by Coach Kirst from Catholic Central and thanked by his players for our work.

Gibraltar @ Crivitz
May 15, 2021

The two schools played a doubleheader and both teams played hard and had fun! The coaches from both teams continued to coach and encourage the players throughout the game. I would like to recognize the catchers for both teams #12 for Gibraltar and # 10 for Crivitz. Number 10 for Crivitz came up and hit a home run. Number 12 from Gibraltar was laughing with her after and congratulated her when she reached home plate. Good job girls and coaches!

Hortonville @ Kimberly
May 14, 2021

The communities of Hortonville and Kimberly should be extremely proud of their softball programs. Coaches Pethke and Hermus both were outstanding in leading their teams throughout the entire contest. The game lasted 13 innings and both coaches kept positive encouragement and teaching the student athletes for this three and half hour game. Playing softball and having fun while respecting opponents. I would like to recognize several players for their hard work and leadership. Way to go Coaches and athletes! Hortonville numbers 4, 5, and 6. Kimberly numbers 4, 12, and 22.

St. Mary Central @ Mishicot
May 13, 2021

The girls from both schools were very respectful to each other during the entire game. The game was very one-sided, but both schools showed mutual respect. We would like to thank retiring AD at Mishicot,Terri Risch. She wanted us to work extra innings for the JV kids. She came out and thanked us personally for doing the extra work. Treating us with respect and going the extra mile was very much appreciated by Ron and I. Have a great retirement Terri!

Lakeland Tournament
May 8, 2021

I want to compliment all the coaches, players and fans of the Lakeland Union, Hayward, Medford and Marquette (MI) Girls Soccer teams for the exceptional attitude and behavior at the Lakeland Invitational Soccer Tournament. It was a perfect day for soccer and the entire officiating crew commented on the positive atmosphere of every game throughout the day. Over the course of four games, all that was heard was cheering for players, positive coaching instruction with good, clean soccer being played on the field. On behalf of the entire officiating crew, thank you for enabling an enjoyable experience. I also want to thank the concession organizers who offered water and sustenance at every break in the games. It is very much appreciated. The excellent sportsmanship and care demonstrated throughout the day goes a longs ways to encouraging future participation by the officiating crew in these all day events!
