Divine Savior Holy Angels Win Division 1 Girls Soccer Crown

Divine Savior Holy Angels (17-6-3) won its second Division 1 championship in the last three years with a 1-0 victory over Madison West (13-7-4) in the final Saturday at KOHLER Engines Stadium at Uihlein Soccer Park in Milwaukee.

The only score of the game came at the 4:26 mark of the first half. Amanda Durst converted on a corner kick from Emily Crevoiserat to provide all the scoring the Dashers needed.

Olivia Mayszewski made one save in goal for the Dashers, while Giselle Monette made four stops for the Regents. The Dashers outshot the Regents 9-4, led by Taylor Massie and Margo Dunn, each with two. Claire Mooney attempted two shots to lead Madison West.

It’s the fourth championship won by Divine Savior Holy Angels in eight tourney appearances. The Dashers won back-to-back titles in 2008-09 and also captured the crown in 2014.

Madison West finishes runner-up for second time in its 12th State Tournament appearance.
