State Track & Field Meet Volunteers Wanted

The WIAA is looking for additional volunteers to work the State Track Meet on Friday and/or Saturday, June 6-7. Volunteers receive free admission to the meet, free parking, a meet polo shirt (adults) and cap, invitation to the Friday breakfast buffet, and lunch on both Friday and Saturday.

Areas of particular need are:  information/packet pick-up table, awards, escorting athletes, field events, and umpires.

Rule Changes: Pole Vault Planting Box Padding Required in 2015

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — The installation of pole vault planting box padding permitted under Rule 7-5-24 will be a requirement in high school track and field beginning with the 2014-15 season.

This was one of 13 rules changes approved by the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) Track and Field Rules Committee at its June 10-12 meeting in Indianapolis. All rules changes were subsequently approved by the NFHS Board of Directors.

Eight champions were crowned at the State Track and Field Championships in La Crosse, Wis., Saturday, including four-time defending Division 3 girls champion Edgar and three-time defending boys Division 1 champion Brookfield East.
