Fall Team Sportsmanship Awards Selected

STEVENS POINT, Wis. -- The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association, in cooperation with Rural Mutual Insurance Company,  has selected the team Sportsmanship Award winners for the 2012 Fall State Championships. 

The winners of the prestigious award are Waupaca in football, Roncalli in girls team tennis, Oconto in girls volleyball, Marquette in boys volleyball and Mount Horeb in boys soccer.


Board Alters Penalty on Two Rule Violations

The Board of Control voted to change the interpretation of the penalty administration on violations of the membership’s amateur status and non-school competition rules at its December meeting today.

WIAA Fall Sports Special to Air Dec. 29th

A review of the 2012 fall sports championship tournaments will be aired Saturday, Dec. 29 on the WIAA State Network. The one-hour program recaps the excitement and drama of the State Tournaments this fall.

Lindgren to Receive National Award of Excellence

cott Lindgren, former WIAA Board of Control member and president, is the 2012 recipient of the Thomas E. Frederick Award of Excellence presented by the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association.

WIAA and UW Extend Facilities Agreement

MADISON, Wis. -- The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association and the University of Wisconsin agreed  to a seven-year contract extension that grants the WIAA availability to campus facilities for hosting high school State championships in boys basketball, football, golf, wrestling and softball through the spring of 2020 in an announcement made at a media conference today.
