Boys & Girls State Hockey Preview

The 43rd Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Boys Hockey State Championships and the 12th Girls Hockey State Championships will take place Thursday-Saturday, Feb. 28-March 2, at Veterans Memorial Coliseum at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison, Wis. Ticket prices for the tourney are $8 per session. Middle school-aged individuals wearing their hockey team apparel will be admitted for $5 each session.

State Team Wrestling Preview

The 22nd Annual Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association State Team Wrestling Championships will take place Friday and Saturday, March 1-2. The tournament is held at the Field House on the University of Wisconsin campus in Madison, Wis. Ticket prices for the tourney are $8 per session.

Individual Wrestling Champions Crowned

The 70th State Individual Wrestling Tournament concluded with the crowning of 42 champions at the Kohl Center in Madison Saturday evening.

Ten former champions added another title to their collection, including senior Jacob Morrissey of Oconto Falls and Lens Jantz of Ellsworth. Each won their third title. Morrissey finished the season as one of 14 undefeated wrestlers to win a championship this season. He went 44-0, and Jantz captured his third crown with a 42-5 mark.
