Teams Advance to Division 5, 2 & 1 Boys Basketball Finals

DIVISION 1

Stevens Point 75, Sheboygan North 48

Defending champion Stevens Point (27-0) will attempt to win its second consecutive Division 1 championship following a convincing 75-48 win over Sheboygan North in the semifinals Friday evening at the Kohl Center.


Muskego 62, Marquette 54

Muskego (23-4) will attempt to win its first State championship Saturday after defeating Marquette 62-54 in the Division 1 semifinals Friday night at the Kohl Center. 


DIVISION 2

Kaukauna 72, La Crosse Central 45

Kaukauna (25-2) advanced to the Division 2 finals with an impressive 72-45 downing of La Crosse Central in the semifinals at the Kohl Center on Friday afternoon.

Waunakee 62, Whitnall 59

Waunakee (25-2) gained a berth in the Division 2 final with a 62-59 over Whitnall in the semifinals Friday afternoon at the Kohl Center.


DIVISION 5

McDonell Central 70, Green Bay N.E.W,. Lutheran 51

McDonell Central (26-2) pulled away in the second half to post a 70-51 victory over Green Bay N.E.W. Lutheran. in the Division 5 semifinals Friday morning at the Kohl Center.


Catholic Central 37, Barneveld 35

Catholic Central (19-9) advances to the Division 5 championship game Saturday following a 37-35 victory over Barneveld in the semifinals Friday morning at the Kohl Center.

Division 3 & 4 Teams Advance to Saturday's Boys Basketball Finals

DIVISION 3

Waupun 55, Prairie du Chen 43

Waupun (26-1) advanced to the Division 3 championship final with a 55-43 victory over Prairie du Chien in the semifinals Thursday afternoon at the Kohl Center in Madison.


Xavier 82, Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau 75

Xavier (24-3) returns to the Division 3 championship game for the second straight season following an 82-75 win over previously unbeaten Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau in the semifinals Thursday afternoon at the Kohl Center in Madison.

DIVISION 4

Cameron 44, Amherst 41

Cameron’s (26-0) quest for a perfect season continues following a 44-41 triumph over Amherst in the Division 4 semifinals Thursday evening at the Kohl Center in Madison.


Dominican 54, Aquinas 46

Dominican (26-1) is one step closer to becoming the first program to win five straight State championships after its 54-46 win over Aquinas in the Division 4 semifinals Thursday evening at the Kohl Center. 

State Boys Basketball Tournament Preview

The 101st Annual Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Boys Basketball State Tournament will take place Thursday-Saturday, March 17-19, at the Kohl Center on the campus of the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wis.

Ticket prices for the tourney are $10 per session for all seating purchased at the Kohl Center. Ticket windows are available one hour prior to the start of any session. Online tickets are available online for $12. All online tickets are print at home or available at the Will-Call window.

NFHS Releases 2015-16 Basketball Rule Changes

INDIANAPOLIS, IN — The rule prohibiting excessive contact in high school basketball has been expanded to include all ball-handlers on the court, include post players.

This revision in Rule 10-6-12 and a new signal for officials were recommended by the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) Basketball Rules Committee at its April 20-22 meeting in Indianapolis. Both changes were subsequently approved by the NFHS Board of Directors.

Mount Horeb Captures Crown in Division 2

Mount Horeb (23-5) is the champion in Division 2 following a 58-46 victory over Rice Lake (22-6) in the title game.

The final score wasn’t indicative of competitive nature of the game. The Warriors were playing without the services of co-Mr. Basketball in Wisconsin Henry Ellenson, who suffered a hand injury in Friday night’s semifinal victory.

Brown Deer Div. 3 Champs for 2nd Straight Season

Brown Deer (25-4) made it back-to-back titles with a 74-60 win over Xavier (24-4) in the Division 3 championship game.
