THE CHAMPIONSHIPS: The third annual Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Boys and Girls State Lacrosse championship finals will be held Saturday, June 13, at Bank of Sun Prairie Stadium at Ashley Field in Sun Prairie, Wis. The girls’ championship game will begin at 1 p.m. with the boys’ title game at 3 p.m.

FACTS & FIGURES: There were 45 boys’ programs and 37 girls’ programs sponsoring lacrosse in its third season as a WIAA-sanctioned sport with a Tournament Series.
LAST YEAR-GIRLS: Hudson won the championship with a narrow 10-9 victory over Kettle Moraine/Badger in the championship game. The Raiders rallied from a 6-4 deficit at halftime, outscoring the Lasers 6-3 in the second half. Hudson’s balanced attack featured three goals each from Josie Jones, Reagan Kubler and Gretchen Whitten. Ella Wolfe recorded two assists in the victory. Jones and Kubler each added an assist. Goalkeeper Sophie Thompson made a pair of saves for the Raiders. The Lasers were led by Mya Kreblin, who netted three goals and added an assist. Isabella Dretzka also scored three goals, while Ella Mautz contributed a goal and two assists. Goalkeeper Kaitlyn Blehovde made eight saves in the loss. Hudson outshot Kettle Moraine 23-14 in the game, but it was Hudson's defense that was the key to victory, limiting Kettle Moraine to just one goal in the final quarter.
LAST YEAR-BOYS: Waunakee defeated Kettle Moraine/St. John’s NW Academies 9-8 to give the Warriors their first State title in program history. Waunakee rallied with a four-goal second quarter to take a 5–4 lead into halftime. The Warriors extended the lead in the third quarter and held off a late surge by the Lasers in the final minutes. Justin Sawicki scored five goals and added an assist to lead Waunakee. Adrian Millin contributed a goal and two assists, while Alex Mikkelson chipped in a goal and three assists. Ethan Evans also scored and recorded an assist for the Warriors. Goalie Isaac Schultz anchored the defense with 10 saves. Kettle Moraine was led by Eli Schwartz, who totaled two goals and two assists. Travis Davidowski and Mason Huebner each scored twice and added an assist. Tommy Stoll had one goal for the Lasers, while goalie Keegan Pautz finished with eight saves. Kettle Moraine recorded a 31-25 edge in total shots, and both teams finished with 17 shots on goal.
THE GIRLS MATCH-UP: Hudson, the defending champion, is making its second championship game appearance. The Raiders were the top seed on its side of the Tournament Series bracket. The Raiders have posted tournament victories over the Sun Prairie East/West co-op (18-0), Wausau East Co-op (20-2), Waunakee (18-5) and Verona/Mount Horeb (11-6) in the sectional final. Hudson plays an independent schedule without a conference affiliation. The two teams played earlier this season, which resulted in a 17-7 Raiders’ victory. University School of Milwaukee has advanced to the title game for the second time. The Wildcats played in the title game in 2024 and finished runner-up. They are the champions of the North Shore Conference this spring. The Wildcats received the #1 seed in the opposite side of the bracket from Hudson. They advanced through the sectional by defeating Cedarburg (18-6), Franklin/Greenfield (17-11), Mukwonago Co-op (10-8) and Brookfield East/Central (16-14) in the sectional final hosted by the Wildcats.
THE BOYS MATCH-UP: Both Hudson and Mukwonago/East Troy/Greenfield/New Berlin Eisenhower/ New Berlin West are first-time participants in the championship game. Hudson the fourth seed in their half of the Tournament Series bracket. They posted wins over DeForest (17-8), Verona/Mount Horeb (14-7), defending champion Waunakee (13-8) and then edged third-seeded Edgewood/Monona Grove (12-11) in the sectional final played at Verona to advance to the championship game. They play an independent schedule without conference affiliation. Mukwonago/East Troy/Greenfield/New Berlin Eisenhower/New Berlin West is the champion of the Large Division of the Classic Eight Conference during the regular season. They were issued the #1 seed in their sectional and proceeded to defeat West Bend West Co-op (15-0), Janesville Craig Co-op (19-3), Homestead (11-6) and then last season’s State runner-up Kettle Moraine/St. John’s NW Academies (9-8) in the sectional final hosted by the Indians.
