WAUKESHA, Wis. – Whitefish Bay won the Division 2 team title, and four records were set at the 2026 Boys Swimming & Diving Championships at the Waukesha South High School Natatorium Friday.
The Blue Dukes won their sixth team title in the program’s history. They earned the crown by compiling 319 points. McFarland was runner-up with 241 points, and Sauk Prairie/Wisconsin Heights was third with 184 points.
Whitefish Bay won the team title on the strength of the squad’s depth as the Blue Dukes won only one of the 12 events in the meet. They earned the title in 200 medley relay with the foursome of Miles Jakowski, Finn Sprau, Fischer Jakowski and Steven Camacho, who swam to the title with a time of 1:34.43.
The two TeBeest brothers led the Spartans to a runner-up finish with four gold medals apiece. They were instrumental in each of the team’s six event titles.
Blake TeBeest broke the Division 2 record in winning the 50 freestyle, eclipsing the old mark of 20.34 with a time of 20.29. He also shattered the 100 freestyle by almost two seconds, capturing the title in a time of 42.92, to erase the former record of 44.57.
Cale TeBeest broke his own Division 2 record to win his third consecutive championship in the 100 butterfly with a time of 47.47, almost a second quicker than the former record of 48.44 he set last year. He also won the 200 freestyle by a comfortable margin with a time of 1:37.84, which is the third-fastest Division 2 time ever recorded in the event.
Both TeBeests contributed to victories in a pair of relays as well. The Spartans won their third straight championship in the 200 freestyle relay. The TeBeests joined Luke Rudie and Orry Landolt to post a Division 2 record time of 1:24.00 in the event. They beat the former record of 1:25.18 established last year by the Spartans. McFarland won the 400 freestyle relay for fourth straight time. The quartet of both TeBeests, Landolt and Nick Furst finished with a time of 3:06.84, which is the third-swiftest time ever for the event in Division 2.
Gavin Reiser of Stoughton won a pair of events. He raced to the championship in the 200 individual medley with a time of 1:52.37. He later added the title in the 100 breaststroke after finishing fourth in the event last season and third in 2024. Reiser raced to a time of 54.77.
Grayson of Cedarburg improved on his fourth-place finish last year to win the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:34.94, and Jude Hill of Nicolet captured the crown in the 100 backstroke in a time of 50.23 after placing runner-up a year ago.
Collin Heller of Plymouth, the leading qualifier entering the diving competition, won the gold medal iwith a score of 422.35.
The 102nd State Boys Swimming and Diving Championships will resume Saturday with the Division 1 diving competition beginning at 9:30 a.m. and swimming events scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m.
