THE MEET: The 103rd Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Boys State Individual Tennis Championships will be held Thursday through Saturday, June 4-6 at Nielsen Tennis Stadium on campus of the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wis. Action will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday and will resume at 9 a.m. Friday and at 8:30 a.m. Saturday.
TICKET INFORMATION: Ticket prices for the State Individual Tennis Tournament are $9 per day plus online fees, and they are available to be purchased online on the WIAA website through GoFan, the WIAA ticketing partner.

LAST YEAR: After a runner-up finish in 2024, second-seeded Nolan Shaub of Union Grove won the Division 1 singles championship with a 6-1, 6-4 victory over fourth-seeded Alexander Bo of Middleton. In Division 1 doubles play, the top-seeded tandem of Aiden and Colin Meixl of Kimberly defeated the sixth-seeded duo of Michael Balister and Miles Seder of Menomonee Falls 6-3. 6-0 to win the championship. In Division 2, second-seeded Kyle Hehli of West Salem won the singles championship by defeating top-seeded Oliver Milleman of Catholic Memorial by scores of 6-3, 1-6, 10-7 in the championship match. In Division 2 doubles play, the top-seeded tandem of Finn Millemanand Brady Latus of Catholic Memorial defeated the thirdseeded duo of Miles Gourlay and Jack Gilpin of University School of Milwaukee 6-3, 5-7, 10-3 in the title match.
DIVISION 1 SINGLES OUTLOOK: Senior Alex Thomas of Notre Dame is seeded #1 in the bracket with a 16-0 record this season. He moved up to Division 1 last season and finished third after a runner-up in Division 2 in 2024. The four-time qualifier also advanced to the second round in Division 1 in 2023. Senior Alexander Bo of Middleton is seeded second with a 26-1 record. A four-time qualifier,he placed runner-up last season, fourth in 2024 and advanced to the third round in 2023 before being eliminated from title contention. The third seed is senior Andrey Semin of Brookfield Central with a 14-4 record. The four-time qualifier finished sixth a year ago, and he advanced to the quarterfinals in 2024 and to the third round in 2023. Sophomore Grant Schaefer of Whitefish Bay was issued the #4 seed after placing fifth as a freshman last season. He enters competition with a 21-4 record. Junior Colin Meixl of Kimberly is seeded fifth with a 26-3 mark this season after earning the doubles championship last season with his brother as a partner. Meixl qualified in singles play and advanced to the third round in 2024. Senior Truman Vogel of Appleton West is the #6 seed with a 25-3 record. He advanced to the third round of play last year after being eliminated from title contention in the second round in 2024. Junior Hunter Brown of Neenah is seeded seventh. He has posted a 24-9 record this year after advancing to the second round in singles play last season. In 2024, he qualified in doubles play and advanced with his partner to the second round. Eighth-seeded Ethan Hoffmann from Hartford is 32-1 this season. The four-time qualifier fell in his first-round matches in 2023 and 2024 before advancing to the third round last season. Since 2001, the top seed in the bracket has won 14 of the 24 singles titles during that span. The lowest seed to win a championship since then has been a fourth seed.
DIVISION 1 DOUBLES OUTLOOK: The tandem of senior Miles Seder and sophomore Chase Larson of Menomonee Falls is the top seed in the bracket with an unblemished 30-0 mark this season. Seder qualifies for the fourth time in his career. He finished runner-up in the doubles bracket last year with a different partner. With yet a different partner, Seder advanced to the third round of play in 2024 and to the second round in 2023. Senior Jake Zheng and junior Ryker Koch of Brookfield East are the #2 seed with a 21-4 tally this season. Zheng has qualified the past three seasons. He advanced to the quarterfinals with a different partner in 2025. He also advanced to the quarterfinals in 2024 and to the second round in 2023 with yet a different partner. Koch qualified with a different partner last year as well, advancing to the second round of play. Senior Brady Lawatsch and junior Luke Grassl of Neenah enter action as the #3 seed with a 26-7 record. Lawatsch qualified with a different partner last season and advanced to the third round, and he qualified in the singles bracket in 2024. Grassl advanced to the second round in doubles last year with a different teammate. Senior Hunter Shadman and senior Sverre Roang of Madison West are seeded fourth with a 23-4 record. Shadman placed fourth in the State Tournament with a different partner a year ago. The fifth-seeded doubles team of seniors Johnny Engerman and Brandon Hall of Badger is 26-2 this season. Both players have State Tournament experience. Engerman advanced to the second round with a different partner last year after qualifying in 2024 with yet another teammate. Hall’s experiences have been in singles play, qualifying three times. He advanced to the third round in 2025, the second round in 2024 and fell in his opening-round match in 2023. The tandem of seniors Gavin Steiner and Reid Potter of Oshkosh West qualify for the second season in a row. The duo is seeded sixth with 29-5 record after falling in the first round last year. Seniors Diogo Trevizan and Tysshi Olveda of Brookfield Central were issued the #7 seed with a 17-9 record this year. Trevizan advanced to the second round with a different partner last year. The eighth-seeded duo of juniors Alex Hoffmann and Jake Otto of Hartford remained intact after qualifying last season. They enter play this week with a 26-3 mark after dropping out of title contention in the opening round in 2025. Since 2001, the top seed in the bracket has won 13 of the 24 doubles titles during that span, and the lowest seed to win the championship since then has been a fourth seed.
DIVISION 2 SINGLES OUTLOOK: Sophomore Teddy Busateri of East Troy was issued the top seed with a 23-2 record this spring after placing third at State a year ago. Junior Michael Pan of Grafton has qualified in his first two seasons of competition, advancing to the second round in both of his previous experiences. He enters play this week with a 20-2 record as the #2 seed. Senior Oliver Milleman of Catholic Memorial is the third seed in the bracket with a 19-2 record. He was the Division 2 runner-up last year and placed sixth in 2024. Senior Maddox Bradfield of Madison Country Day was issued the #4 seed with a 20-1 mark. After qualifying and falling in the first round of play in 2024, he placed fifth last year. Junior Tommy Heinrich of New Berlin Eisenhower is seeded fifth with a 23-5 record after advancing to the quarterfinals of the tourney last season. Junior Nolan Johnson of Shorewood has compiled an 18-11 tally heading into play this week. He was issued the #6 seed after qualifying last season and advancing to the second round before being ousted from title contention. Seventh-seeded Wyatt Andrew of University School of Milwaukee qualifies for the first time, entering play with a 9-2 mark for the season. Senior Kevin Chen of McFarland is the eighth seed with an 18-9 record. He qualified last year and fell in his opening-round match. Since 2001, the top seed in the bracket has won 17 of the 24 singles titles during that span, and the lowest seed to win the championship since then was a sixth seed.
DIVISION 2 DOUBLES OUTLOOK: Senior Finn Milleman and junior Brady Latus of Catholic Memorial return to defend the title they won a year ago. They were issued the top seed with a 19-0 record. In addition, Milleman won the doubles crown in 2024 with a different partner after qualifying for singles play in 2023. Latus qualified with a different doubles partner in 2024 and advanced to the second round before falling out of title contention. Seniors Gianni Frausto and Cavin Baltus of Plymouth return to the tournament field for the third time. The tandem placed third last year. They also qualified as freshmen in 2023 and fell in their first-round match. This year, they are the #2 seed with a 16-0 record. Senior Mac Yackee and juniorJohnathan Buye of Edgewood are back attempting to improve on last season’s sixth-place finish. They possess a 23-3 record to earn the third seed in the bracket. Yackee also qualified in 2024 with a different partner and advanced to the second round. The fourth-seeded senior duo of Jaxton Semrow and Teagan Bennett of Altoona has compiled a 22-2 season record. They also qualified as a tandem last season, falling in their first-round match. Seniors Max Reeve and Auguste Caton of Shorewood qualify for the third year in a row. The fifth-seeded tandem possesses an 8-8 record after advancing to the second round in each of the past two State Tournaments. Juniors Leo Geisler and Oden Swanson of Madison Country Day Co-op will experience the State Tournament for the first time with a 14-2 record. They received the #6 seed in the bracket. The Kohler twosome of senior Aidan Schueller and junior Zach Regennitter of Kohler are the #7 seed with a 23-7 mark. Reginnitter gained State Tournament experience last year with a different partner, which resulted in a loss in the opening round of play. The New Berlin West team of seniors Aris Ziogas and JJ Borchardt are seeded eighth. Ziogas qualified last season with a different partner and advanced to the quarterfinals. Since 2001, the top seed in the bracket has won 16 of the 24 doubles titles during that span, and an unseeded tandem has won the championship twice during that span.

NEED CREDENTIALS?: Media Credential requests for the 2026 WIAA Boys Individual Tennis Championships must be requested by submitting the online credential request form on the restricted media area of the WIAA website by noon Tuesday, June 2. Verification of approved credentials is also available on the restricted media area of the website. Please verify credential requests have been approved. Credentials will be available for pick-up upon arrival at the respective venues.
