Division 3 & 4 Teams Advance to Boys Soccer Finals

Scoring came at a premium during the first day of the State Boys Soccer Tournament at KOHLER Engines Stadium at Uihlein Soccer Park Thursday as Division 3 and 4 teams advanced to Saturday’s championship finals.

Only two goals were scored in regulation Thursday. University School (17-1-1) blanked Racine St. Catherine’s (14-7-3) 1-0 on a late goal by Alex Bidard in the 85th minute. The Wildcats advance to play Sturgeon Bay in the Division 4 final Saturday. The Clippers (21-3-3) beat Barron (18-4) 1-0 on a Jaden Stevenson’s goal midway through the second half.

In Division 3, Mount Horeb (15-6-4) advances to the title game Saturday following a 1-1 tie with Grafton (20-3-2). Neither team scored through regulation or overtime. The Vikings move on to the finals by virtue of a 4-2 advantage in the shootout. Rice Lake was a 1-0 victor over Notre Dame in overtime. The Warriors’ Logan Severson scored the game winner at 98.33.
