Boys Tennis Singles and Doubles Champions Crowned in Two Divisions

MADISON, Wis. – Singles players and doubles teams were crowned champions in two divisions at the 2026 State Boys Tennis Tournament played Saturday at Nielsen Tennis Stadium.

Senior Alex Thomas of Notre Dame, the top seed in the bracket, won the Division 1 singles championship with a 6-2, 6-4 victory over second-seeded Alexander Bo, a senior from Middleton, in the title match. Thomas finished his undefeated season at 21-0 after placing third in Division 1 last season and finishing runner-up in Division 2 in 2024. The four-time qualifier also advanced to the second round of Division 1 competition in 2023.

Bo, also a four-time qualifier, finished runner-up for the second straight season after placing third in 2024 and advancing to the third round in 2023.

In Division 1 doubles play, the second-seeded tandem of senior Jake Zheng and junior Ryker Koch of Brookfield East defeated the top-seeded duo of senior Miles Seder and sophomore Chase Larson of Menomonee Falls 6-2, 6-3 in the championship match. The Spartans duo capped the season with a 26-4 record. Seder finished runner-up for the second consecutive year for the Phoenix after advancing to the final last season with a different partner.

In Division 2, sophomore Teddy Busateri of East Troy, the top seed in the bracket, won the singles championship after placing third last season. He defeated third-seeded Oliver Milleman, a senior from Catholic Memorial, 6-4, 6-0 in the championship match. Busateri improved his record to 27-2 this season. Milleman finished as the runner-up after also placing second last season and sixth in 2024.

The top-seeded tandem of senior Finn Milleman and junior Brady Latus of Catholic Memorial won the Division 2 doubles title for the second consecutive season. The Tritons duo defeated the second-seeded tandem of seniors Gianni Frausto and Cavin Baltus of Plymouth 6-2, 6-7 (5), 10-2 in the title match. Milleman and Latus improved their unblemished record to 23-0. Milleman also won the doubles championship with a different partner in 2024.

The State Boys Team Tennis Tournament is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, June 12-13, at Nielsen Tennis Stadium in Madison.
