STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Board of Control approved a limited number of action items and received customary Executive Staff and liaison reports at its September meeting today.
The Board voted to authorize the 2025-26 membership renewals and appointments to the Coaches Advisory Committees, Conference Realignment Task Force, Calendar & Contact Ad-Hoc Committee and the Classification Committee. Other Board action included approval of the August financial statements and general fund payments, and the 2024-2025 spring financial statements.
Executive Staff reports to the Board included updates on the Calendar & Contact Ad-Hoc Committee, the activities of the Student-Athlete Leadership Team, the continued efforts to recruit and retain licensed officials, preparations for the fall Tournament Series, and a review of the first three Area Meetings and the NFHS Section 4/5 meeting.
In addition, the Board received liaison reports from Paul Manriquez of the Department of Public Instruction, Dan Rossmiller of the Wisconsin Association of School Boards, and Kyle LeMieux of the Wisconsin Athletic Directors Association. Andy Engel of the Hamilton Consulting Group also presented a report to the Board.
The WIAA, as defined by its Constitution, is a voluntary, private and nonprofit organization. The membership oversees interscholastic athletic programs for 515 senior high schools and 30 junior high/middle level schools in its membership.
