Barth Joins WIAA in Administrative Assistant Role

STEVENS POINT, Wis. – Haley Barth has been named the administrative assistant for Assistant Director Kate Peterson Abiad, beginning her duties at the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association on Aug. 24.

Barth brings a variety of teaching and coaching experiences to her position. Her most recent positions included positions at The Inn at SentryWorld and teaching Physical and Health Education at Point of Discovery School and Ben Franklin Junior High School in Stevens Point last year.

Prior to 2021-22, Barth worked for four years teaching health and physical education at Medford Middle School where she also served as assistant coach of the Medford High School girls tennis team from 2018-20. She also served one year instructing elementary physical education in the Manitowoc School District in 2016-17 and was honored as recipient of the Early Educator Award.

“Haley’s experiences in the classroom and as a coach will enhance her ability to provide an immediate service to our staff and the membership,” Executive Director Stephanie Hauser said. “We feel very fortunate to be adding her talents to our staff.”

Barth’s office responsibilities will be to assist in the coordination of athletic-related services; compile and organize data; respond, interact and represent the association with customary inquiries from the membership and other constituents; general clerical tasks and compiling various committee meetings; and other projects assigned by the assistant director.

She is a 2016 graduate of the Univerisity of Wisconsin-Stevens Point with a bachelor’s degree in physical education and a health education minor and an adapted physical education add-on.
