Arrowhead, Edgewood Win Team Titles; Reinecke, Lake Medalists

The 42nd State Girls Golf State Tournament wrapped up Tuesday at University Ridge in Madison with Edgewood winning the Division 2 team championship for the third consecutive season, and Arrowhead captured its second State team title and its first since 2004.

Edgewood scored a four-player total of 681, 21 strokes ahead of runner-up Fox Valley Lutheran. The Crusaders were led by junior Caroline Lake with a 36-hole, three-under-par 141. She earns individual medalist honors after placing eighth in 2012. Abby Dufrane of Marinette and Kayla Priebe of Fox Valley Lutheran finished tied for second with a 157. The Crusaders have won 12 team titles in the last 13 years.

Arrowhead shot a team score of 638, 10 shots in front of runner-up Verona. Defending champion Jessica Reinecke of Verona successfully defended her title in Division 1 by firing a one-under-par 143, four strokes better than Anika Hitt of Homestead.
