Officials Licensing for 2025–2026 Now Open

The WIAA is excited to announce that officials licensing for the 2025–2026 school year is now open as of May 1, 2025. Registration will be available through June 30, 2025.

All returning and prospective officials are strongly encouraged to register early to ensure proper certification and maximize opportunities for game assignments, as assigners are scheduling months in advance. Registering during this window also provides a $30 savings on fees. Licenses will be active August 1, 2025 through July 31, 2026.

Complete instructions and access to the registration portal can be found on our Become an Official webpage. If you have forgotten your username, please do not create a new account — contact us at [email protected] to retrieve your existing account information.

For questions or additional assistance, contact the WIAA at (715) 344-8580 or via email at [email protected].

The WIAA deeply values the dedication , passion, and integrity that officials bring to high school athletics across Wisconsin and thanks all those for considering and registering to officiate.

WHY BECOME AN OFFICIAL?

Officials are vital to the success of education-based athletics. They promote fairness, sportsmanship, and help foster the personal development of student-athletes. Beyond managing the action on the field or court, officials model integrity, character, and uphold the core values of high school sports.

Becoming an official allows you to stay active, stay connected to the sports you love, give back to your community, and earn additional income. Many officials form lifelong friendships and find officiating to be a deeply rewarding experience.

LACROSSE OFFICIALS: 2025–26 SPORT FEE WAIVED

As the WIAA enters its third year of sanctioning lacrosse, the continued growth of the sport has created an increased demand for officials. To encourage new participation, the sport fee for lacrosse officials will be waived for the 2025–26 school year.
