Madison Unveils New Championship Logo

(MADISON) At a news conference today, The Greater Madison Convention and Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) and the Madison Area Sports Commission (MASC) unveiled a new logo and comprehensive WIAA tournament package.

"We've are so thrilled to be able to put together a first class fan experience," says Deb Archer, President and CEO of the GMCVB and MASC.  "We've worked closely with many of our critical partners such as the UW and the City of Madison to create an all-inclusive package that will create an amazing and memorable experience for the student athletes and their family and friends and of course, the loyal fan base that exists within our community," she added.  The collaborative community-wide effort enlisted a diverse range of partners within the Greater Madison community:  Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce (GMCC), Downtown Madison Inc. (DMI), Business Improvement District (BID), City of Madison, Dane County, UW Athletics and UW Chancellor's office among others.

Today starts the first of many winter tournaments in Madison.  Boys State Swimming & Diving takes place February 15 and 16 at the UW Natatorium, followed by the Individual State Wrestling Championships held at the Kohl Center on February 21-23.  Madison will play host to the Boys and Girls State Hockey Championships at Veterans Memorial Coliseum at the Alliant Energy Center February 28-March 2 and the Team Wrestling Championship will occur at the Field House on March 1-2.  The Boys State Basketball Championships will be played at the Kohl Center on March 7-9.
