State Girls Soccer Semifinal Action

The Catholic Memorial Crusaders advance to the championship game after defeating the Notre Dame de la Baie Academy Tritons 2-0 in the second Division 3 semifinal.  The first goal for the Crusaders came in the 10th minute from their leading scorer Emily Cervantes with an assist from Maureen Burke.  Cervantes put another one in the net in the 60th minute giving her goal number 47 for the season.  Lili Berg of Catholic Memorial had 6 saves and Emma Riedi of Notre Dame had 3 saves.

Division 3 semifinal action has Belleville/New Glarus advancing to the finals in a 1-0 victory over Seymour. Vanessa Narveson scored the only goal of the game in the 87th minute on a kick from the right side to the far post. Aubrey Buchholz of Seymour had 4 saves and Rachael Heittola of Belleville/New Glarus is credited with 3.  

In game 1 of the Division 4 semifinals, Aquinas moves on with a 2-1 victory over Lake Country Lutheran/University Lake School. The first goal in the game is credited to Mikaela Schlesinger of Aquinas. It took Lake Country Lutheran/University Lake School a little over 30 minutes to tie up the game on a goal from Erika Van Der Voort with the assist given to Maddy Rowedder.  The game ends in a tie in regulation and in the 109th minute Schlesinger puts the winning goal in the net that advances her team to defend their 2015 title in the championship game.  Saves for Christina Reid of Lake Country Lutheran/University Lake School 13 and 4 for Sydney Ion of Aquinas.

The Praire School will face Aquinas in the Division 4 championship game after defeating Oostburg 1-0 in semifinal action. Jordynn Gottwald scored in the 19th minute on a tap-in from Sarah Johnson's corner kick. Savannah Mondloch of Oostburg had 15 saves and Quinn Shannon of The Prairie School had 2.
