The final game for the first day of the 2015 State Boys Soccer championships was the Division 3 semifinal between Notre Dame de la Baie and Rice Lake. Nobody puts the ball in the net during regulation play. In the 9th minute of the overtime period Logan Severson scores for Rice Lake on a rebound off the crossbar. The assist is credited to Zach Buchli. Rice Lake advances to the championship and will play Mount Horeb on Saturday at 12 noon.
Game one of the Division 3 semifinal between Mount Horeb and Grafton had Ben Stephens of Mount Horeb putting his team on the board first with a header goal in the 6th minute, assist coming from Kyler Donovan. In the 77th minute Grafton's Jake Demerath ties the game with an unassisted goal. After 90 minutes of regulation play and 20 minutes of overtime the game ends in a tie. Mount Horeb advances to the championship after a 4-2 shootout.
The second Division 4 semifinals has Sturgeon Bay advancing to the finals with a 1-0 win over Barron. Jaden Stevenson scored the only goal of the game in the 70th minute off a corner kick. Rece Dietrich goalkeeper for Barron had 7 saves and Bay's goakkeeper Trent Maas had 2 saves. Sturgeon Bay will play University School of Milwaukee in the championship game on Saturday, November 7 at 10 a.m. This is Sturgeon Bay's 5th trip to State.
The first game the 2015 Boys State Soccer Tournament involved Racine St. Catherine’s and University School of Milwaukee in the Division 4 semifinal. The only goal in the game came late in the 2nd half (85th minute) by Alex Bidard of University School of Milwaukee with the assist credited to Nate Sampson. Goalkeepers for both schools had four saves each. University School of Milwaukee advances to the finals in their 3rd trip to State.
