Spring/Summer Sportsmanship Award Winners Selected

The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association, in partnership with Rural Mutual Insurance Company, has selected the team Sportsmanship Award winners for the 2014 Spring and Summer State Team Tournaments.

The winners of the prestigious award are New Holstein in girls soccer, Eau Claire Memorial in boys tennis, Arcadia in softball, Oconto in spring baseball and Oak Creek in summer baseball.


NFHS Rules Changes Approved in High School Baseball, Softball

Beginning with the 2015 high school baseball season, teams will be allowed to use video monitoring or replay equipment for coaching purposes during games.  In softball, two rules changes were recommended by the NFHS Softball Rules Committee at its June 16-18 meeting in Indianapolis and subsequently approved by the NFHS Board of Directors.

Kimberly, Mosinee, Arcadia, Oakfield Softball Champs

Oakfield (21-2) captured its fourth State championship in the last six seasons and its fifth overall with a 7-3 win over Cochrane-Fountain City in the Division 4 title game Saturday at Goodman Diamond in Madison.

State Softball: Championship Final Match-ups Set

Four Division 1 teams advanced to Friday’s semifinals and a pair of Division 2 teams moved on to the championship final Saturday following the first day of the State Softball Tournament at Goodman Diamond in Madison.

State Softball Tournament Preview

The 39th Annual Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Softball State Tournament will take place Thursday-Saturday, June 12-14, at the Goodman Diamond on the University of Wisconsin campus in Madison, Wis. Ticket prices for the tourney are $8 per session for quarterfinals and semifinals, $6 for each championship game and $14 for an all-day ticket on each day. Tickets are available at the stadium or online.
