Executive Staff Responds to Expanded Contact Days Questions

The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Board of Control voted to cancel 2020 spring sports regular-season competitions and the Tournament Series and extended unrestricted summertime coaching contact for spring sports at its April meeting Tuesday. Official's Licensing Opens May 1 for the 2020-21 School Year

NFHS Halts Printing of Baseball, Softball, Track Rules Publications; 2020 Rules to be Used in 2021 Season

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Due to the cancellation of spring sports at high schools across the country, the National Federation of State High School Associations will not be publishing new rules (both print and digital) for 2021 in the WIAA-sponsored sports of baseball, softball, and track & field.

Spring Competitions & Tournaments Canceled, But Spring Sports Opportunities Extended

STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Board of Control voted to cancel 2020 spring sports regular-season competitions and the Tournament Series while allowing individual, virtual spring sports coaching to continue until the final day of the 2020 season, which is the final day of the State Tournament for the respective sports.

Important Rule Reminders Following School Closure Announcement

Here are a number of reminders for athletic directors and coaches as the DHS COVID-19 Executive Order has been extended through May 26, 2020. All WIAA rules remain in effect. These include code of conduct enforcement, in-season vs. out-of-season instruction and school year vs. summer contact opportunities – at this time.
