Schools Declare for Fall or Alternate Fall Season

STEVENS POINT, Wis. –  The 513 schools in the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association declared by yesterday’s deadline for either the traditional fall season or the alternate fall season to be held in the spring of 2021.

Study States Concussions Don't Cause Long-Term Depression

STEVENS POINT, Wis. –  A recently published article in SportHealth indicates concussions do not have long-term effects of depression on high school athletes, according to a study done by the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Board Defines Alternate Season; Winter & Spring Seasons Shortened

STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association approved several details of a one-year alternative season in the spring for fall sports and reduced the number of weeks for sports during the 2020-21 winter and spring seasons at its August meeting today.

Board Provides Unprecedented Flexibility for Fall Sports

STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Board of Control considered a number of season schedule models and resolved to maintain fall interscholastic opportunities with a delayed start, as well as an alternate opportunity for schools unable to start and administer the traditional fall season, at its virtual special meeting today.

Board Approves Winter Sports Changes, Adjusts Rules & Policies in Wake of Pandemic

STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Board of Control reviewed and acted on coaches committee recommendations impacting winter sports–including the addition of an individual State Tournament Series for girls wrestling in 2022–and other rule and budget considerations in response to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, at its June virtual meeting today.

WIAA Guidance for Summer Activities

STEVENS POINT, Wis. –  The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association has released guidance and recommendations for member high schools to resume summertime athletics programming and other activities beginning July 1, 2020.
