UW Study Seeks Survey Responses Measuring Impact of Returning to High School Sports

STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association is endorsinga University of Wisconsin research study titled “The Impact of Restarting High School Sports on The Health of Adolescent Athletes.”

Wrestling Rule Changes: Separate Weight Classes for Girls, Choice of Weight Classes Established

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — States will have a choice of 12, 13 or 14 weight classes for both boys and girls competition in high school wrestling, effective with the 2023-24 season.

State Alternate Season Girls Individual Tennis Tournament Preview

STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Alternate Season Girls Individual Tennis Tournament featuring one division will be held Thursday-Friday, April 22-23. First-round action will begin at 9 a.m. on both days.

Board Ratifies 11-Player Football Realignment & Additional Spring Admission Requirement

STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Board of Control approved the 11-player football conference realignment solution initiated by the WIAA Conference Realignment Task Force Committee, admission requirements for baseball and softball Tournament Series contests this spring and other action items, as well as tabled discussion of a COVID-19 recovery fee assessment at its April meeting today.

Winter Sportsmanship Award Recipients Named

Alternate Season Boys & Girls Volleyball Tournament Preview

STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The alternate season Girls Volleyball State Tournaments will be held Thursday and Saturday, April 15 and 17.  The  Division 1 girls State semifinals will be held Thursday at Kettle Moraine High School and the Division 2 girls semifinals will be held Thursday at Beaver Dam High School. The finals of both girls divisions and the alternate season Boys Volleyball State Tournament final will be played at Kaukauna High School Saturday.

Conference Realignment Task Force Conducts Review of Remanded Plans

STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Conference Realignment Task Force Committee reviewed and voted Tuesday to not support the seven 11-player football-only plans that were remanded back to the committee by the Board of Control at its March 5 meeting.

Edgewood Wins State Girls Swimming & Diving Alternate Season Team Title

WAUKESHA, Wis. – The State Girls Swimming and Diving Alternate Season Championships produced a team champion and champions in nine individual events and three relays Tuesday at the Waukesha South High School Natatorium.
