Kaukauna Wins State Boys Volleyball Championship

Kaukauna (41-3) captured the State Boys Volleyball championship with a 25-23, 25-16, 21-25, 25-23 victory over Kettle Moraine (30-6) Saturday at Wisconsin Lutheran College in Milwaukee, Wis.

The Galloping Ghosts won its membership-leading ninth championship, but the first since the boys tournament was re-established in 2000. They won their last title in 1982, the final year before the tournament was discontinued for 17 years.

State Boys Volleyball Tournament Preview

he 52nd Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Boys Volleyball Tournament will take place Friday and Saturday, Nov. 13-14, at Wisconsin Lutheran College in Milwaukee, Wis. Ticket prices for the tournament are $8 for adults per session and $1 for children 6-years old and under. 

The single-elimination tournament features matches with a best-of-five-games format. Of the 54 schools that offer a boys volleyball program, eight remain to play for the single-division State title. 

NFHS Volleyball Rule Changes Approved

A new penalty system for an unnecessary delay in starting or resuming play in high school volleyball was approved by the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) Volleyball Rules Committee at its January meeting in Indianapolis.

This significant rules change, along with three others recommended by the committee for the 2015-16 season, were subsequently approved by the NFHS Board of Directors.
