Verona @ Madison Memorial

As a crew we want to thank coaches Harris (Memorial) and Richardson (Verona) for their willingness to work together on a night that weather wise was less than ideal. It was one of the best football games I, as well as our crew, have had the privilege to be a part of. The level of respect shown between coaches and players of both teams as well as toward officials was what we hope for each week. Hard hits, helping each other up, patting teammates and opponents on the back and respectfully asking for clarification of situations or fouls was so refreshing. Such behaviors and actions begin with coaches, faculty and administration and is reinforced at home. The play was intense and the players represented their schools and communities splendidly. The Boards of Education in both Madison and Verona should be very proud of what is being taught and learned by these players and the teaching that is taking place. We would be honored to officiate for either team any time any place as they made our roles easier and much more pleasant.

Eau Claire Memorial @ Middleton

I have to give the proper praise for the class act by the Eau Claire Memorial Boys Soccer team tonight. The game was stopped 25 mins early from completion because of weather. Before the boys went back to their bench to collect their bags from being drenched and soaked, each member of the team came over to the referee crew and shook our hands and complemented us for a job well done. Each players gratitude was genuine. Also would like to shout out their coaches who not only played an obvious role in molding these young men, but they also came to the entire referee crew after the game in the pouring rain and complimenting each of us for a job well done. These coaches should be applauded for having great players on the field and even better representatives of their school and community off!  Truly hats off to these players and their coaches. The lessons that the coaches have instilled in their players do make an impact and are truly appreciated.

Stratford @ Rib Lake/Prentice

Our crew wanted to acknowledge both Rib Lake/Prentice and Stratford High School’s football teams, coaching staffs and event staff for the sportsmanship displayed. Players from both schools played hard on every down, and when the play was over, reach down to help each other up. No matter the score, each player and coach continued to show a regard and willingness to create a competitive environment for all the student athletes which is the truest definition of sportsmanship. We were amazed at the end of the game at what we saw on the field. Both schools, by their actions, made us excited to be a part of that game. We want to say thank you to both Teams for their outstanding leadership and showing all the fans in attendance what great athletes they are!
