Tri-County @ Iola-Scandinavia
Sept. 25, 2026

I would like to recognize two schools for great sportsmanship Friday night. The two schools are Tri-County at Iola-Scandinavia. Tri-County arrived at the field with 11 players and had a  week with injuries and sickness thru the school. It was parents night and senior night. One student was also receiving an award from the Navy. The stands were full of fans from both teams. At half time Tri-County was behind and down to eight players. After a conversation with the Tri-County coaches about shortening the game, we came up with eight-minute quarters and a running clock. After talking to AD Dave Jueds and he talked to both coaches we were able to finish the game with the stands full. The players were helping each other up after tackles. They congradulated each other on good plays. AD Dave Jueds and coach bob Fredy of Iola-Scandinavia and coaches Kevin Fenske and josh Fribel of Tri-County should be commended for sportsmanship. They got everyone thru a very tuff game for the players and fans. It was a memorable night for everyone.
