INDIANAPOLIS, IND. – Jeff Sitz, athletic director at Wisconsin Lutheran High School in Milwaukee, Wis., was elected president-elect of the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association for 2017 at the organization’s national conference held Dec. 10-13 in Nashville, Tenn.

He will then serve as the association’s president beginning Jan. 1, 2018. Sitz was appointed by the Wisconsin Athletic Directors Association and has served on the 15-member national board since 2015, making him eligible for the president-elect position. He served as the WADA president in 2006, and was the organization’s liaison to WIAA Board of Control in 2005. He was also a member of the WISAA/WIAA ad-hoc committee in the 1990s and the competitive equity committee in 2014-15.

The purpose of the NIAAA is to preserve, enhance, and promote educational based athletics through the professional development of interscholastic athletic administrators. The NIAAA is headquartered in Indianapolis.

The NIAAA has more than 10,000 members, and provides more than 40 different leadership courses for athletic directors, as well as four separate levels of professional certification.  As a recognized accredited educational institution committed to leadership programs, resources and service opportunities, the NIAAA supports the athletic administrator’s effort in providing quality athletic participation opportunities for students.  

Sitz will be the fourth president of the NIAAA to hale from the state of Wisconsin in the 39-year history of the association. John Klement from Monona Grove served as president in 1980 and 1981, Dave Balmer of Arrowhead in 1986, and South Milwaukee’s Jim Teff served in 1991.
