Q: As you know, I am allowed unlimited coaching contact as a soccer coach with the team once school is out. In the summer I do ‘technical sessions’ to work with players on individual technique that I typically do not have time to do during the season. The challenge has been finding a place to have them since the rules state you cannot use school facilities. Can you ask Deb Bowser if use of Ebben would be allowed since we are so small and have limited facilities? It is really dual use for school and recreation, there is no cost to the school at all.
A: The nonschool organization may use any facility they want. However, if they use the school, they must follow the same procedures as any other group including paying rent if other nonschool organization must pay rent. Keep in mind that coaches may not have unrestricted or unlimited coaching contact until the last day of school.
