Q:  What are the proper official positions for field goal and point after touchdown?

A:  The proper NFHS five-game officials positions and mechanics are on page 46 of the 2016 and 2017 NFHS Football Game Officials Manual.

After ball is spotted:
Referee:  Position 2 to 3 yards to rear and 3-5 yards to side of potential kicker, facing holder and able to see holder receive ball.
Umpire:  Position 4 to 7 yards deep keeping ball in view.
Head Linesman or Line Judge (whoever is looking at the back of the holder):  Position on line of scrimmage on sideline.
Back Judge and Head Linesman or Line Judge (whoever is looking at the front of the holder): Position Beyond the end zone and behind your upright where you feel most comfortable and have best coverage of upright.

Can the umpire:  1) see #77 throw three punches on the defensive player and 2) can the umpire observe and protect the snapper?
