The WIAA Medical Advisory Committee (https://www.wiaawi.org/AboutWIAA/Committees/MedicalAdvisoryCommittee.aspx) is seeking a Dietitian Liaison.

 

Description of the position.  

 

Wisconsin Dietetic Association Sport Dietitian Liaison to WIAA Sport Medicine Advisory Committee (SMAC)

·        Update content of nutrition information in WIAA medical policy manual and website

·        Update SMAC on current research and trends related to sport nutrition

·        Advise SMAC on performance nutrition issues related to medical conditions i.e. RED-S, nutrition strategies for concussion treatment, managing athletes with diabetes

·        Assist SMAC in the assessment of performance enhancing supplements for compliance with the WIAA-PES policy 

·        Provide sport nutrition presentations to state sport organizations annual meetings as appropriate

·        Attendance professional education conferences related to sport medicine/sport nutrition i.e. CPSD, ACSM, SCAN

·        Keeps informed on current sport nutrition practices and trends.

 

Qualifications:

·        Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist (RDN)

·        Certified Dietitian (Wisconsin-CD)

·        American Association of Nutrition and Dietetics-Sport Nutrition Certification (CSSD)

·        Member College and Professional Sport dietitians (CPSD)

·        Experience with high school athletes, teams, and programs

 

Time commitment: 

·        1 meeting/year (1st or 2nd Friday in May) for 1/2 day.   Mileage reimbursed.   Majority of the work is done via e-mail. 

·        Availability to communicate timely with WIAA office and SMAC members via e-mail or phone on a variety of issues/concerns related to sport nutrition/health
