Girls and Boys Hockey Champions Crowned

Eau Claire North Co-op won the 2018 State Girls Hockey championship by defeating the Sun Prairie Co-op 3-1.
Ava Kison of Eau Claire scored the opening goal in the 11th minute of the first period, with the assist coming from Abigail Stow. Zephryn Jager answered with a short-handed goal for Sun Prairie in the 14th minute, assisted by Colleen Milligan. In the third period, Stow puts one in the net in the sixth minute with her assists coming from Lauren Carmody and Annika Olson. Kison gets the final goal of the game in the 12th minute, assisted by Stow. Taylor Thornton of Sun Prairie recorded 24 saves, and Naomi Stow of Eau Claire made nine stops.
Hudson claims the boy's title for the second year in a row by defeating Eau Claire Memorial 7-1.
The first goal of the game was credited to Cole Danielson, unassisted, in the sixth minute of the first period. The Old Abe's Max Savaloga scored in the eighth minute with an assist from Joe Free. The second goal for Hudson was scored by Ben Lundeen and assisted by Peyton Hanson in the 12th minute in the first period.
The second and third period scoring is all credited to Hudson. In the 13th minute, Hanson put one in the net with an assist by Lundeen. Teammate Joe Martin put the Raiders' fifth goal in the net in the 17th minute, assisted by Dylan Carr and Rece Lila.
In the third minute of the final period, Danielson scored on the powerplay, with assists coming from Hanson and Jordan Halverson. The final goal of the game goes in the net in the 10th minute by Jack Flattum, a short-handed goal assisted by Aaqon Squires and Bennett Schrank. Alex Cohen of Hudson made 25 saves and Trevor Hudecek of Eau Claire Memorial made 25 stops.
