Marquette; University School Capture Tennis Titles

The 21st Annual State Boys Team Tennis Tournament crowned a pair of familiar champions at Nielsen Tennis Stadium in Madison, Wis. Saturday.

Marquette won its eighth Division 1 championship in the last nine years and its 10 championship overall, which ties Neenah and University for the second-most tennis championships. The Hilltoppers won the first and second flights in singles play and all three doubles matches to claim a 5-2 victory.

University School claims its third straight championship in Division 2 and its ninth in the past 10 years. The program has compiled 10 titles overall. The Wildcats defeated Edgewood 4-3 in the championship final match. They won three of the four singles matches with a win at #2 doubles to clinch the title.
