The 2018 State Girls Golf Tournament produced a pair of team and individual champions at University Ridge in Madison, Wis., Tuesday.

Kettle Moraine captured the Division 1 team championship with a 36-hole, five-player score of 651. It’s the first team championship for the Lasers. Their previous best finish in the State tournament was a runner-up finish in 2012. Middleton placed second with a score of 659, and Arrowhead, which was the two-time defending champion, was third at 669.

Jo Baranczyk of Bay Port birdied her final hole to edge Emily Lauterbach of Arrowhead for individual medalist honors in Division 1 with a score of 142. Lauterbach, who won the championship in 2016 and finished third last year, finished with a 143.

Edgewood cruised to the Division 2 title with a score of 659, which was 60 strokes better than runner-up Xavier with 719. It was the Crusaders’ 14th State team championship and its first since 2014. Hayward was third with a team score of 780.

Clair Phakamad of Xavier came back to win the Division 2 individual crown with an 8-over-par 152, and Annie Balduzzi of Aquinas, who placed sixth last season, finished runner-up with a score of 154.
