Football 11-12 Updates

There must be a minimum of one calendar week (Sun.-Sat.) of no school and/or coach contact (i.e., the week immediately preceding) the first allowed practice in a fall sport (Beginning in 2012).
Level 1 games are scheduled for Saturday, October 22 and may be played on Friday with mutual agreement.
Level 2 games are scheduled for Saturday, October 29 and may be played on Friday with mutual agreement.
At any level, when a field used which does not have lights, the WIAA office has final authority.
Football approved site list and availability must be done annually. Deadline - October 7.
Beginning in 2012, uniform changes apply.
Thigh guards in spandex shorts now allowed. In Rule 1-5-1, the detailed specifications for thigh guards were deleted because they were not necessarily applicable to newer technologies used in current production. The requirements for wearing thigh guards and that the guards be unaltered from the manufacturer's original design/production remain part of the rule
