WIAA Special Election for Board of Control & Advisory Council Positions

STEVENS POINT, Wis. – A special election will take place for three positions on the Board of Control and Advisory Council.

Board of Control – Gender At-Large Representative – 3-year term
Advisory Council – Gender At-Large Representative – 3-year term
                            Small School Representative – 1-year term (replacing Michael Endreas moving to the Board of Control)                    

District administrators, high school principals and assistants at these levels who are interested in being a candidate should state their intention via a letter to Kassie Mortimer (kmortimer@wiaawi.org) at the WIAA office.  Note:  Candidates must have (1) Department of Public Instruction licensure allowing placement in the eligible set, (2) must be employed full-time or part-time in a qualifying position and (3) cannot be members of the teachers' bargaining unit.

More information and instructions will be emailed on July 16.

The time line of the special election process is as follows:
July 16, 2021 - Primary/general election ballot available online and email notification to all schools sent.
July 25, 2021 - Deadline for returning primary/general election ballot.
July 26, 2021 - General election ballot available online and email notification to all schools sent.
Aug. 6, 2021  - Deadline for returning general election ballots.
Aug. 13, 2021 - Successful candidate will be seated for the Board of Control meeting.
Oct. 7, 2021 -  Successful candidates will be seated for the Advisory Council meeting.

  • Principal at Chilton H.S.  (2012-2019)
  • Dean of Students, Arrowhead HS (2010-2012)
  • Arrowhead H.S. Teacher of the Year (2010)
  • Coached on the Arrowhead H.S. Div. 1 Football State Championship Team (2007)
  • Social Studies Teacher, Arrowhead H.S. (2005-2012)
  • Social Studies Teacher, West Allis Central H.S. (2004)
  • Coached FB, BB, and Track and Field at the H.S. level

Joshua Skoug, Principal – Eleva-Strum High School

  • Three years of experience as principal
  • Masters degree in Educational Leadership from Viterbo University
  • 11 years of teaching experience
  • B.S. in Human Performance & Sport from Metroplitan State College of Denver 
  • Head Boys Basketball coach at Eleva-Strum for eight years
  • Assistant coach - Football (Menomonie & Eleva-Strum) and Track & Field (Eleva-Strum)
  • WIAA Liscensed Official in Football (L4/State in 2019) and Basketball (L5) and have recently added Baseball and Softball

Tim Fergot, Principal – De Soto High School

  • Six years as De Soto Middle School/High School Principal
  • 15 years as De Soto High School Social Studies Teacher
  • Five years as District 20th Century Community Learning Center Director
  • Five years as De Soto Assistant Baseball Coach
  • Three years as De Soto Junior Varsity Basketball Coach

Randy Bergman, District Administrator – Prentice High School

  • Taught 5th Grade Rib Lake School District

  • Coached high school softball

  • My wife’s name is Shari and I have 3 daughters Abbie, Erin and Colby which two of them will have swam for St. Cloud State University Division II.  Abbie has graduated and is teaching 2nd grade in St. Cloud, MN and Erin will be attending St. Cloud this fall.  Colby is a sophomore in high school.

Kurt Cohen, District Administrator – Potosi High School

  • Beginning third year as Potosi District Administrator
  • Member of Executive Committee for the Six Rivers Conference
  • Former Athletic Director at Darlington Community Schools
  • 2018 recipient of District 5 Athletic Director of the Year Award as presented by the Wisconsin Athletic Directors Association
  • Led a proposal on football-only realignment (the Southwest Plan) that was approved by the WIAA Board of Control in April 2018 as a precursor to the current state-wide football plan
  • 20+ years coaching experience at Wisconsin high schools

Michael Lambrecht, Principal – Columbus Catholic High School

  • Three years experience as Principal 
  • 18 years of teaching experience
  • 13 years of experience as an Athletic Director (8 at Loyal and 3 at Granton)
  • Certified Athletic Administrator (CAA) through the NIAA 
  • Assistant Coach Football (Loyal and Greenwood)
  • Varsity Baseball Coach (Granton)
  • Assistant Softball Coach (Loyal)
  • WIAA Licensed Official (Baseball and Softball)

 

Advisory Council Gender At-Large (One 3-year term position)

Stacy Bolder, Associate Principal – Tomahawk High School

  • Associate Principal - Tomahawk High School, 2017 – present
  • Graduate of UWSP, 2000; Played basketball for the Pointers and was a student assistant coach for the Women's basketball team 
  • Masters in Education from UWSP, 2004
  • Completion of Educational Leadership program and Administrator license from Marion University, 2017
  • Hired in 2001 at Tomahawk as a Health and Physical Education teacher, taught in Tomahawk from 2001-2017
  • Middle School Athletic director at Tomahawk from 2005 - 2017, served as interim Tomahawk High School AD summer of 2021 until a new hire was made
  • Varsity Girls Basketball coach in Tomahawk for 5 years and was an assistant coach for 6 years
  • Varsity Softball assistant coach for 6 years in Tomahawk
  • Coached middle school girls basketball and volleyball in Tomahawk
  • Advisor of our THS Lettermen's Club for 6 years and participant in the WIAA Sportsmanship summit for 2 years

Jill Stobber, Athletic/Activities Administrator – Waterford High School

  • Six years as an Administrator at Waterford overseeing Athletics and Activities (12 years overall)
  • 24 years in Education (Physical Education and Health Instructor)
  • NATA Athletic Trainer since 1994 (retired in 2017)
  • WIAA Sports Advisory Committee 2012-2018
  • NFHS Sports Medicine Advisory Committee 2016-2020
  • Current Instructor for the NIAAA Leadership Training Courses at both the State and National levels
  • District 6 WADA Gender Representative 2012-2014, District Representative 2014-2018
  • Whitnall Outdoor Athletic Facility Project-Design and Planning
  • Hartford Locker Room Facility Project-Design, Planning, and Partial Construction

Margaret "Peggy" Larson, District Administrator – Winneconne Community School District
