WIAA Officials Licensing Open for 2019-20

STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The official’s licensing renewal application is now available on the WIAA website for the 2019-20 school year.    

Additional Time to Evaluate Head & Neck Injuries Among Wrestling Rule Changes

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — In an ongoing effort to minimize the risk of injury in high school wrestling, additional time will be given to evaluate head and neck injuries when an appropriate health-care professional is present at a match.

Six Swimming & Diving Rules Changes Approved by NFHS

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Effective with the 2019-20 high school season, a legal finish now requires the competitor to contact either the touchpad or the finish end coinciding with the individual stroke of the race; therefore, swimmers can legally complete a race by touching the finish end wall, regardless of whether the touchpad is activated.

Board Approves Football-Only Conferences; Sectional & State Ticket Price Increase

STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Board of Control passed a statewide football-only conference realignment proposal and supported a raise in ticket prices for Sectional and State Tournaments at its April meeting today.

WIAA Membership to Get Down to Business at Annual Meeting

STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association will conduct its 124th Annual Meeting at the Holiday Inn and Convention Center in Stevens Point Wednesday, April 17. Among the topics on the Association’s business meeting agenda are seven proposed amendments to the membership’s Constitution, Bylaws and Rules of Eligibility. Three of those seven impact the Constitution, one is Bylaw-related and three are associated with the Rules of Eligibility.
