Winter Team Tournament Sportsmanship Award Winners Named

The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association, in cooperation with Rural Mutual Insurance, has chosen the recipients of the team Sportsmanship Awards for the 2018 winter State Tournaments. The winners of the prestigious sportsmanship recognition are Valders in boys basketball, Marshall in girls basketball, D.C. Everest Co-op in girls hockey, Hudson in gymnastics and Ellsworth in team wrestling.

Stoughton, Luxemburg-Casco, Stratford Win Wrestling Team Titles

Stoughton, Luxemburg-Casco and Stratford earned championships at the 2018 State Team Wrestling State Tournament Saturday at the UW Field House in Madison.

Familiar Opponents Battle for Div. 2 & 3 Team Wrestling Titles

It’s deja vu with the 27th State Team Wrestling Tournament championship finals in Divisions 2 and 3 at the UW Field House in Madison after Saturday’s semifinals.

Holmen, Stoughton Advance to Div. 1 Team Wrestlng Final

For the first time in five seasons, there will be a new Division 1 wresting team champion.

Stoughton (23-1), which has finished runner-up the past three seasons, defeated four-time defending champion Kaukauna (21-2) 34-30 in the semifinals of the State Team Wrestling Tournament at the UW Field House in Madison Friday evening.

Stoughton will do battle with Holmen in the championship match Saturday evening. Stoughton advanced to the semifinals with a 47-13 victory over Marshfield in the quarterfinals earlier in the evening.

State Team Wrestling Tournament Preview

The 27th Annual Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association State Team Wrestling Tournament will take place Friday and Saturday, March 2-3. The tournament is held at the Field House on the University of Wisconsin campus in Madison, Wis. Ticket prices for the tourney are $13 for the Friday session and $8 for the Saturday sessions.

Forty-Two Individual Wrestling Champions Crowned

The 75th Annual State Individual Wrestling produced a pair of four-time champions and 40 other gold medalists at the Kohl Center in Madison, Wis. Saturday.

Semifinals Produce 84 Contenders for Individual Wrestling Titles

The match-ups for the finals of the 2018 State Individual Wrestling Tournament have been determined with 84 wrestlers remaining in contention for gold medals after semifinal bouts at the Kohl Center Friday.

State Individual Wrestling Tournament Preview

The 75th Annual State Individual Wrestling Tournament will be held Thursday-Saturday, Feb. 22-24, at the Kohl Center on the campus of the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wis. Ticket prices per tournament session are $8. Tickets are available on-line on the WIAA website with a $2 service fee until two hours prior to any respective session with the printing of the ticket by the purchaser. Tickets are also available at the Kohl Center during the tournament.
