Summer Contact Question

Q: A quick question for summer contact with basketball coaches – In the Winter handbook it states on Page 3. There must be a minimum of one calendar week (Sun. – Sat.) of no school and/or coach contact (i.e. the week immediately preceding) the first allowable practice in a fall sport (beginning in 2012). My question is… Does a coach have to wait to use a contact date with his players at the end of the school year? Does the coach need to wait for one calendar week when school is dismissed for students?
A: Unrestricted School Coaching Contact is during the summertime to July 31. Summertime is from the last day of school. Therefore, no coaching contact of any kind until the last day of school. The week off is for fall practice. Football begins earlier than other sports. Therefore, football coaching contact must end one week before fall practice begins which is July 26.
