Skin Condition Forms

Q: We have some wrestles who had a skin condition. The condition has been cleared up for some time, but there are traces of marks/scars where a ringworm had been, etc., which is normal. The skin sheets for the wrestlers do state that the wrestlers can return to competition by the appropriate date and are signed by a physician. A couple of the sheets did have the Contagious box checked, but also had the correct date and signature that allowed them to participate. Do they need new sheets? A: As long as the sheet was signed by an appropriate health care professional and had an acceptable date for return to competition, the sheets were valid. Keep in mind that: the sheets would not cover any new outbreaks on any areas of the body not indicated on the original sheet. If the skin condition appears to have become contagious again, the official, meet physician, or meet LAT can over rule the note at the weigh in.
