Forward Progress on a Catch Carried Out of Bounds

Q: Where do we mark the spot for forward progress on a catch, when the carry is forward out of bounds to the sideline. At the sport of forward progress impact or the carry forward spot at the sideline? My thoughts are where the impact and forward progress is called. But do you mark if carried forward at the sideline?
A: If I understand what you’re asking I believe that you have interpreted it correctly. The ball is dead at the yard line where the forward progress of the receiver was stopped (Rules 2-4-1 4-2-2a). When an airborne receiver is carried out of bounds, the clock shall stop unless the receiver is carried out backwards and his forward progress was stopped inbounds. Use forward progress clock procedures. Do not confuse the forward progress determination with the definition of a catch which now includes carrying out of bounds.
