Board Meeting Focus on Action Items and Reports

STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Board of Control approved a number of action items and received the conventional staff updates and reports at its September meeting today.
Among the action items authorized by the Board were the appointments to the 2014-15 gymnastics coaches advisory committee and the formal approval of the 2014-15 Media Policies and Reference Guide.
The Executive Staff provided the Board with reports on the Area Meetings in Antigo, Mount Horeb and Oconomowoc, which are the first of seven Area meetings around the state this fall. In addition, the Board was provided an initial draft of the 2014-15 fiscal budget and was updated on the staff’s technology and marketing efforts, as well as the preparations for the NFHS Section 4 meetings to be hosted by the WIAA on Sept. 18-19.
The WIAA oversees interscholastic athletic programs for 505 senior high schools and 45 junior high/middle level schools in its membership. It sponsors 24 championship tournament series. For more information, please contact the WIAA office at (715) 344-8580 or access our website at www.wiaawi.org.
